Motorcyclist taken to hospital after car and bike crash near well known pub

A motorcyclist was injured and taken to hospital after a crash outside a well known pub.

The man, in his 50s, was hurt in the crash which closed the junction of Warbreck Moor and Longmoor Lane this morning.

Police said the crash involved a Kawasaki motorbike and Ford Zetec close to the Black Bull pub around 11am.

North West Ambulance Service confirmed an ambulance and rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene and a man was taken to hospital but "it is not thought he suffered a major trauma".

And police said it is not believed the motorcyclist suffered "life threatening injuries."

The road re-opened just before 1pm.

A police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called at 11am following reports that a car (Ford Zetec) and a motorcycle (Kawasaki) had been involved in a collision. "
