A motorcyclist was taken to hospital this evening after a crash on the A76 in East Ayrshire.
The biker and a car collided on the main route near to the Skerrington roundabout at Cumnock.
An emergency response was summoned with the motorcyclist transferred to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for more than three hours with motorists told to avoid the area.
Police have tonight said that investigations into establishing exactly what happened are underway.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the A76 near the Skerrington Roundabout at Cumnock around 4.15pm on Monday, September 20.
“One man, the motorcyclist, was taken to hospital for treatment and the road was closed while emergency services attended the scene.
“The road reopened around 7.50pm. Enquiries into the collision remain ongoing.”
