A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after coming off his bike near Dunure last night.
The 52-year-old's Suzuki lost control and left the road on the A719 around 6.40pm.
The man was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment and the road was subsequently closed for around eight hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Sergeant Kevin Blackley, of Ayrshire road policing, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was on the road around the time of the incident to contact us.
“In particular, anyone with a dash-cam device is asked to check any images it may have captured and pass on anything which may be of use to us.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3300 of 22 August, 2021.”
