Motorcyclist seriously injured during road crash in East Ayrshire

A 62-year-old motorcyclist remains in a serious condition in hospital today after he was involved in a crash near Loch Doon in East Ayrshire.

The man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following the incident.

The accident took place on the A713 road near the Loch Doon turn-off to Carsphairn, Dumfries & Galloway.

Emergency services were summoned and a stretch of the road was closed temporarily in order for emergency medics to treat the victim.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.30pm on Sunday, June 13, we received a report of a crash involving a motorbike.

“Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 62-year-old male, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in a serious condition.

“The road was closed for a short time to allow for the investigation and uplift of the vehicle and reopened around 9pm.”
