Motorcyclist seriously injured after A737 horror crash near Paisley

A motorcyclist has been left seriously injured after a horror crash on the A737 near Paisley .

The 54-year-old man was travelling eastbound along the A737 as it meets the M8 at the St James Interchange at around 3.55pm on Tuesday.

No other vehicle was involved and no-one else was injured.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with head and chest injuries.

Medics describe his condition as serious but stable.

Police Scotland are now appealing for anyone with witnessed the incident to contact them.

Sergeant Craig Beaver said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was driving in the vicinity of the St James Interchange at the time of the collision.

"I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of an HGV lorry who may be able to assist with enquiries and anyone who captured the incident on a dashcam."
