Motorcyclist rushed to hospital after being 'hit by strong winds' on Scots road

A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital following a horror one-vehicle crash on a Scots road this afternoon.

Emergency services scrambled to the B9157 near Burntisland in Fife after the 20-year-old man came off his bike at around 11.55am on Sunday.

Ambulance crews attended and took the young man to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

A local source suggested the motorcyclist came came off his bike after being hit by strong winds.

They said: "The bike got hit with a big gust of wind. He was conscious when I passed, but waiting on ambulance.

"He landed a fair distance from his bike down the side of the road."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 11.55am following the report of a one vehicle road crash involving a motorbike on the B9157 near Burntisland.

"Emergency services attended and a 20-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment of injuries."
