Motorcyclist passenger suffers 'life-changing' injuries in horror crash

A woman has been left with "life changing injuries" after the motorbike she was a passenger on was involved in a crash with a car.

The male rider of the motorbike was also seriously hurt after the horror smash with a silver Peugeot car on Thursday.

The crash happened around 4pm on Highfield Road in Widnes with witnesses saying an air ambulance landed on the grounds of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College as emergency services were called to the scene.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 4pm police were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike on Highfield Road. Police attended the scene.

“The car was a silver Peugeot. The ambulance service has been notified.”

Today police confirmed the female passenger on the motorbike suffered what a spokesman termed "life-changing" but not life-threatening injuries.

The spokesman added that the male rider of the motorbike also suffered serious injuries - again not life-threatening. Both were taken to Aintree Hospital.

The female Peugeot driver was not hurt say Cheshire Police .

No details of the ages of those involved have been given.
