Motorcyclist left in hospital following 'serious crash' in Lanarkshire

A motorcyclist has been hospitalised following a serious crash on a Lanarkshire road.

The 63-year-old man was riding a white Yamaha motorcycle yesterday afternoon when he was struck by a car exiting the southbound M74 junction 7 slip road near Larkhall.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Wishaw after emergency services raced to the scene at around 12.30pm.

He remains in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

The 36-year-old driver of the car, was not injured.

He was driving a white coloured BMW 320.

Now, officers at the Road Policing Unit in Motherwell are continuing enquiries and appealing for information over the incident.

Sergeant Craig McDonald would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash, and has not already spoken to police, or anyone who has dash-cam footage of the incident.

Anyone who has information should contact police at Wishaw via 101 quoting incident number 1604 of 20 March 2022.
