Motorcyclist killed in Lawndale crash: police

A 65-year-old man died September 14, 2019 in a vehicle crash in Lawndale on the West Side. | Sun-Times file

A 65-year-old man was killed Saturday in a crash between a motorcycle and car in Lawndale on the West Side.

About 4 p.m., the man was riding a motorcycle west on 16th Street when he collided with a Nissan in the 1600 block of South Kedvale Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office said the man died of multiple injuries related to the crash. An autopsy Sunday ruled his death an accident.

CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating the crash.
