Motorcyclist killed in Good Friday crash on Scots road as cops launch probe

A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision in Moray on Good Friday, Police Scotland have confirmed.

Emergency services attended the fatal crash on the A920 Huntly to Dufftown Road around 11.35am yesterday.

Tragically, the 59-year-old male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident involved a black BMW R1250GS motorcycle.

Police Scotland have launched a probe into the crash.

They have urged anyone who was nearby at the time, or those with dash-cam footage of the area, to come forward.

Sergeant Christopher Smith, of the Inverurie Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has sadly died in this collision.

"Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are appealing for information and I am asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1280 of 15 April.
