Motorcyclist killed in crash on North Circular

A man has been killed after falling from his motorbike on London’s North Circular.

Members of the public reportedly rushed to help the victim after the incident about 8pm on Sunday.

Paramedics and police arrived but the rider died from his injuries at the scene in South Woodford.

A Met spokesman said: “Police were called to reports that a man had fallen from a motorbike on the eastbound A406 near to Queen Mary Avenue in South Woodford.

“Despite the effort of emergency services, the motorcyclist sadly died at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are under way to establish what happened.”

The A406 ring road remained closed on Monday morning.

A witness who lives on the A406 tweeted: “Today I saw a young man die. I didn’t know the guy. It was a tragic RTA. It was chaos.

“But seeing strangers trying to resuscitate him before emergency service arrive, seeing his mates arrive late on and each light a candle, replaced some of the faith I had lost in life.”
