Man, 41, killed in Cowbridge crash

A 41-year-old man has died following a crash on the A48.

Officers were alerted to a crash involving a motorcycle on the A48, Cowbridge, at 7.29pm on Wednesday, September 29.

The motorcyclist, from the Penarth area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The A48 between A4222 Cowbridge and the B4268 Pentre Meyrick was closed until 3.30am on Thursday, September 30 while emergency services attended the scene.

Police are asking for witnesses or those with dashcam footage to get in touch.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving a single motorcycle on the A48 near Cowbridge at around 7.30pm on Wednesday 29 September.

"The motorcyclist, a 41 year-old man from the Penarth area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The road was closed in both directions between the A4222 and the B4268 for a number of hours and those affected are thanked for their understanding.

"Anybody who may have witnessed, or captured on dashcam, the incident, or who may have seen the motorcycle being ridden moments before, is urged to contact 101 and give reference *343258."
