A fatal road accident occurred on Monday morning when a motorcycle was hit and run over by a bus near the busy Asok-Sukhumvit intersection in Bangkok, causing major traffic congestion in the area.

The incident was reported at 7.59am. Police confirmed that the motorcyclist died at the scene. The accident took place on Asok Montri Road, in front of an office building on Sukhumvit 21, heading towards the Asok junction.

According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle was travelling in the right-hand lane when the bus attempted to move across from the left lane into the same lane. The two vehicles collided, and the motorcyclist was crushed beneath the bus.

The collision caused severe traffic delays, with congestion stretching from the Asok junction back towards the Rama 9 intersection. Traffic police and rescue workers were deployed to manage the flow of vehicles, clear the wreckage from the road and investigate the cause of the accident.
