Motorcyclist injured in crash close to busy roundabout in Bolton

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash in Bolton.

Emergency services were called to the smash involving a motorbike, in Snydale Way, Westhoughton, at about 2.20pm.

The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man, has suffered injuries to his arm and leg and has been taken to hospital for further treatment.

Following the incident, Snydale Way has been closed northbound between Chequerbent Roundabout and junction five of the M61.

Drivers are being warned to avoid the area and find an alternative route.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to a crash involving a motorbike at about 2.20pm.

"A 19-year-old man has been injured and the road is currently blocked."

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Snydale Way at about 2.20pm.

"A male patient has been treated for injuries to his arm and leg and was taken to hospital."
