Motorcyclist 'fighting for life' after crash on A93

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital following a horror crash on the A93 in Aberdeenshire. The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by helicopter after the incident on Monday evening.

The one-vehicle crash happened around 8.25pm on July 18 on the A93 Old Military Road between Braemar and Ballater and the road was closed until around 7am on Tuesday morning.

The 68-year-old motorcyclist's injuries are described as "life-threatening" by staff at the Royal Infirmary and Road Policing officers are now appealing for witnesses and information following the motorcycle crash.

Inspector Scott Deans, from the North East Road Policing Unit, said: "We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or saw the motorbike shortly beforehand, to please speak with officers if they haven’t done so already.

“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 3691 of 18 July.”
