Motorcyclist fighting for life after crash in Tower Hamlets

A motorcyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries after a road traffic collision in Tower Hamlets, the Met Police have said.

Officers were called to Whitechapel Road, E1, shortly before 00.30am on Wednesday after reports of a collision between a van and motorcycle.

The man, aged 39, was treated for multiple injuries by London Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

In a statement, the Met Police said: “The van driver stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.

“No arrests have been made.

“Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage.”

“Witnesses are asked to call police on 0208 597 4874 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.”
