Motorcyclist fatally struck by semi after falling from bike on I-90 in Hoffman Estates

A motorcyclist died in a crash Monday on Interstate 90 in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates.

The 23-year-old lost control of his motorcycle about 1:30 p.m. on the eastbound entrance ramp from Beverly Road near milepost 58.5, Illinois State Police said in a statement.

Matthew Studinger was thrown from the bike into the lanes of I-90, where he was struck by a semitrailer, state police said.

Studinger, who lived in Decatur, was taken to a hospital, where he died, state police said.

The 28-year-old male driver of the semitrailer was uninjured. State police were investigating the crash.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.
