A 58-year-old man died weeks after he was ejected from his motorcycle in Burnside on the South Side.

On June 29, Kelvin Johnson was eastbound in the 500 block of East 95th Street when he tried turning left onto St. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Johnson struck a curb about 4:17 p.m., then hit a light pole and was ejected from the motorcycle, authorities said. It was unclear if he was wearing a helmet.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died more than two weeks later on Monday, authorities said. He lived in Humboldt Park.

An autopsy released Tuesday found he died from complications from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.
