A motorcyclist died of his injuries at the scene of a crash with a bus at a junction in Cardiff Bay on Friday evening.

The 34-year-old man was riding a KTM RC8 motorbike at the time of the collision with the Cardiff Bus.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Unfortunately the rider died at the scene as a result of his injuries, despite the best efforts of ambulance and air ambulance staff."

Emergency services were called to the incident at the junction of the A4119 James Street and Adelaide Street in Cardiff Bay just after 6.30pm on Friday, April 3.

The A4119 was closed in both directions, between Harrowby Lane and Bute Street, following the collision which happened outside a mini-supermarket.

The man's family is being supported by a specially trained officer. Police are now investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
