Motorcyclist dies in 'tragic incident' on Nottinghamshire road over Easter weekend

Investigators have confirmed a motorcyclist has died in a crash on a Nottinghamshire road on Easter Sunday.

The rider was travelling along the A634 between Oldcotes and Blyth when police say his bike left the road at around 10.45am.

An air ambulance was called to the incident and, despite the "best efforts" of the medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was 41.

The road remained closed between Oldcotes and Blyth for much of the day as investigation work was carried out at the scene.

Collision Investigator Louise Melbourne, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a tragic incident and – as with all road traffic collisions where people are killed or seriously injured – we are working hard to understand exactly what happened.

"If you witnessed this incident or saw a motorcycle travelling along the road immediately before the collision please contact 101 quoting incident 194 of 4 April. Also please make contact if you have dash cam or head cam footage. ”
