A 53-year-old motorcyclist has died after crashing into a wall in Port Glasgow this afternoon.
Emergency services raced to the B788 Kilmacolm Road around 12.35pm on Friday when a black Honda motorbike collided with a wall.
Sadly the male motorcyclist could not be saved was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after the crash.
His next of kin have been informed.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
The road was closed for four hours while collision investigations took place.
Sergeant John Bradford Road Policing Unit, said: “Sadly the motorcyclist died and our thoughts are with his family and friends. Our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“The road was closed for four hours while investigations took place and local diversions were put in place.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.
“I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our investigation into this serious collision.
“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1364 of 3 September, 2021."
