Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist in Somerset yesterday afternoon (April 12).

Officers were called to attend reports of a serious road traffic collision at around 3.20pm on Sunday afternoon, on the road between Cannington and Hinkley Point near Bridgwater.

The male motorcyclist involved crashed into a building which carries out car servicing, near to Cannington Grain.

Despite receiving treatment at the scene, the motorcyclist died shortly afterwards.

The road was closed for much of yesterday to allow collision investigators to carry out a detailed examination of the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact us.

"We would particularly like to hear from anyone who has mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident."

Anyone who can help is asked to please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5220081084.
