Motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Swansea

A man has died after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car in Swansea .

The incident happened on Mumbles Road at around 5.20pm on Saturday.

The 50-year-old rider of a green Kawasaki motorcycle died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The passengers of a silver Ford Galaxy involved in the crash were taken to hospital, but the extent of their injuries are not known.

A 29-year-old man from Bradley Stoke near Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Eyewitnesses saw the Welsh Air Ambulance arrive at the scene which was attended by South Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the manner of driving of the vehicles prior to the collision.

"Anyone with any dash-cam footage is also asked to get in contact by calling 101 quoting reference 1900312713 or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
