A MALE motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Plains.
The tragic incident took place on the village’s Main Street on Thursday afternoon and road policing officers in Lanarkshire are now appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
The crash took occurred at around 4.30pm at the junction with Northburn Street and involved a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle and a black Volkswagen Fox car.
The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Volkswagen suffered no injuries.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder, from Police Scotland’s road policing, said: “We are asking for anyone who was in the area around 4.30pm and either saw the crash take place or the motorcyclist beforehand to please come forward.
“If anyone has potential dash-cam footage or CCTV prior to the incident that would also greatly assist our enquiries.”
