A motorcyclist has died after a horror crash on an Ayrshire road.
The 63-year-old man's red Honda CBR 1000 collided with a blue Nissan Qashqui at around 2.10pm on Sunday on the A70 between Ayr and Coylton.
Emergency crews raced to the crash site but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Cops closed the road for around nine hours to allow a full collision probe to take place.
Sergeant Scott Sutherland, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man who has lost his life.
“Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing and we are appealing to members of the public to help assist with our investigation.
“I would ask if you were driving in the area at the time and have any information that could help our enquiries that you get in contact with officers.
“I would also appeal to any motorists who have possible dashcam footage of the area to come forward and speak to police.”
