Motorcyclist and pillion passenger seriously injured in hospital after Northumberland crash

A motorcyclist and passenger have been taken to hospital following a crash in Northumberland.

Police received a report of a crash between a car and a motorcycle on the A190 in Seaton Delaval shortly after 5pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist and their pillion passenger were taken to hospital seriously injured.

The road was closed for several hours but police confirmed but the road has since reopened.

Officers are now asking any witnesses to come forward and help with their investigation.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 5.20pm we received a report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A190 in Seaton Delaval.

"Emergency services attended the scene and the motorcyclist and their pillion passenger were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"Enquiries into the circumstances around the collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact police quoting reference NP-20210824-0816.”
