Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital with 'potentially life-changing injuries' after crash

A man has been airlifted to hospital with "potentially life-changing" injuries after his motorcycle crashed into a lamppost.

At around 11.10am on Sunday, September 1, police were called to reports of a collision on Devauden Road, near St Arvans .

The 32-year-old motorcyclist, who's believed to be from the Bristol area, has been taken to hospital.

A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "We were called to reports that a motorcyclist had collided with a lamppost in the Devauden Road area of St Arvans, near to the Pen y Parc nature walk and car park.

"Emergency services attended and the 32-year-old male rider from the Bristol area has been airlifted to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. His family have been informed.

"The road has been closed while emergency services treated the rider however it is now due to be re-opened shortly - thanks for your patience."
