Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after serious crash on A4059 between Storey Arms and Hirwaun

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in the Brecon Beacons.

Police are now appealing for information about the accident on the on the A4059, around two miles from the junction with the A470, which involved a motorbike and a car.

The collision happened at around 2pm on Wednesday.

A silver BMW motorbike was travelling from the direction of Penderyn, on the A4059, towards the junction with the A470.

The car, a silver Mazda CX-5, was travelling from the A470 junction towards Penderyn.

Dyfed Powys Police said the motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, and is still in hospital receiving treatment.

The driver and passenger were not injured.

The A4059 between Storey Arms and Hirwaun was closed for a number of hours while specialist officers carried out their investigation.
