Motorcyclist, 62, seriously injured in crash with car on Royston Road

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash with a car on Royston Road.

The collision happened at around 4.15pm yesterday and involved a grey Ford Kuga and white Honda CB650 motorcycle at the junction to the entrance of the British Car Auctions premises.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the 62-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Kuga, a 46-year-old man, was uninjured.

The road was closed for around five hours while investigations took place, and reopened at 9pm.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney of the Glasgow Road Policing Unit said: “Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not already spoken to police to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and recording via a dashcam device to please check for any relevant footage which could help our investigation.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2323 of 22 February, 2021.
