A man has died after his motorbike collided with another vehicle in Co Kildare.
The incident happened on the R417 in the townland of Kilberry, Athy, Co Kildare on Friday evening at around 6.10pm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to find the motorcyclist, a man in his mid-40s, seriously injured.
He was taken by ambulance to Naas General Hospital in a serious condition but passed away later.
Gardai say a post mortem will take place in due course.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene, while local diversions are in place.

Gardai are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Athy are investigating a fatal road traffic collision, that occurred on the R417 in the townland of Kilberry, Athy, Co. Kildare this evening Friday 13th August, 2021 at approximately 6.10p.m.
"A male motorcyclist, mid 40s, was fatally injured when he collided with a vehicle. He was removed from the scene by ambulance to Naas General Hospital in a serious condition. He passed away later this evening. A post mortem will take place in due course. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
"The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at scene. Local diversions are in place.

Meanwhile, a woman in her late 20s also died in a road collision in Co Donegal on Friday.
The incident happened on the N15 at Ardnawark near Barnesmore Gap at around 3.45pm.
The woman was a passenger in a bus when she fell from the moving vehicle. She was then struck by a passing vehicle.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the woman was subsequently transported to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin via helicopter for treatment.
However, she passed away a few hours later on Friday evening.
Gardai say that a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road is currently closed with local diversions in place, while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will conduct their examination of the scene on Saturday morning.
They are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
