A 35-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash in east London.

Police scrambled to reports of a crash between a Mercedes and a motorcycle in Hackney at around 8.30am on Friday.

Officers and paramedics found a male motorcyclist, 35, suffering serious injuries in Pembury Road.

He was treated at the scene before he was rushed to a central London hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after.

His next of kin have been informed, Scotland Yard said.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the crash are ongoing.

Police said the driver stopped at the scene and is assisting the force with their enquiries.

Scotland Yard is now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of the fatal crash.
