Motorcyclist, 23, in critical condition after crashing into wall on Rhondda road

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after his Kawasaki bike left the road and collided with a wall in the Rhondda.

The 23-year-old, from Caerphilly, suffered serious injuries in the incident which happened in Trebanog, Porth, on Monday night (April 27) at 7.30pm.

The motorcyclist was travelling along Rhiwgarn Road at the time of the crash.

He remains in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

Officers from South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to assist their investigation.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are investigating a serious road traffic collision which occurred in Porth on Monday night and are appealing to the public for information.

"Anybody who may have witnessed the incident or who saw the Kawasaki motorcycle being ridden prior to the collision, should call 101 quoting reference 144901."
