A man riding a motorcycle has died in a crash with a car on the M62 motorway.
The tragedy happened in Huyton in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services raced to the motorway crash between junctions six at Tarbock Island and seven at Rainhill Stoops.

It was reported a black Audi A4 and a red Suzuki motorbike had been involved.
The 23-year-old motorcycle rider was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
The driver of the Audi A4, a 36-year-old man, was seriously hurt and taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable.
The next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The M62 remains closed this morning between junctions six and seven westbound and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
