A motorcycle used to deliver a bomb that exploded in Satun was stolen from Songkhla, officials said as they investigated a spate of bombings in Satun and Phatthalung.
Col Pramote Prom-in, the spokesman for the southern region office of the Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc), said on Sunday investigators have not ruled any possibilities about who was behind the blasts in Satun and Phatthalung on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The blasts could be related to the insurgency in the far South, political conflicts or human and drug traffickers taking revenge after recent crackdowns, he said.
Bombs were found in four locations in Muang district of Satun, and two of them exploded. Ten bombs were found in Phatthalung's Muang and Pak Phayun districts. and five of those were detonated. The explosions all took place on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
All the bombs were home-made, and no injuries or deaths were reported.

Security authorities destroy a bomb in Phatthalung on Sunday.
Satun and Phatthalung have been relatively peaceful, with virtually no spillover of the ongoing insurgency in the southernmost provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Songkhla's four districts of Sabayoi, Chana, Na Thawi and Thepha.
Col Pramote said a motorcycle equipped with a bomb parked outside the Muang police station in Satun was stolen from Sabayoi in November last year.
Southern army chief Lt Gen Pornsak Poonsawat ordered every security agency to check all areas and collect evidence in an attempt to arrest the bombers.
Deputy government spokesman Lt Gen Werachon Sukondhapatipak said Prime Minister Prayut Cha-o-cha called for the public to remain calm as the situation remained under the government's control.
