Motorcycle racer sent flying long distance in high-speed crash

First, it should be noted that the professional motorcycle racer in this high-speed crash escaped with only a hairline fracture in the top of his femur. Obviously it could have been far worse.

Luke Mossey, a professional motorcycle racer in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, was practicing for the Cadwell Park British Superbike Test on Thursday when he lost control and went flying long distance before landing on his back and sliding across the track, narrowly missing another rider who swerved away.

Interestingly, the woman putting her hair up watching the whole incident unfold before her reacted as if it was nothing out of the ordinary.

The video cuts out just as Mossey appears to be getting to his feet.

Mossey, 26, was taken to the hospital for precautionary scans, which revealed the hairline fracture, according to Bike Sports News.

“Nothing serious, but with the nature of Cadwell, it’s just too risky to try and ride,” Mossey tweeted. “I’ll be back at Oulton in a few weeks time!”

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship Facebook page reported that Mossey was back at Cadwell Park on Friday as a spectator.

Mossey is in his fifth season in the British Superbike Championship as part of the OMG Racing Suzuki team.
