Former double F2 world champion Brian Reid may have hung up his racing leathers but he is still very much involved with his racing son Simon.
After a couple of years in the Irish local race circuits Reid is making the big break to race in the British National 600 Superstock Championship.
Armed with a new R6 racing Yamaha the Banbridge rider is full of enthusiasm to learn the BSB race circuits and to gain more experience across the water.
Could this electric Superbike be the future of motorcycle racing?
With the help of his father, five-times Isle of Man TT winner Brian Reid, Simon knows there's a big challenge ahead but is determined to seize this opportunity with both hands.
'Speedy Reidy' enjoys his racing and was amazed winning the Supertwins Championship in his rookie year.
For 2018 he continued to secure support from a number of friends and kind associates.

“Silicone Engineering Racing provided me with a Triumph 675 that was fantastic to ride," he said.
"I competed in the USBK Supersport Pro Championship and the USBK Supersport Cup Championship. It was a difficult rookie year in Supersport as I broke my collarbone mid-season, but I still finished third in both championships and accumulated 12 wins in the Cup Championship as well as two lap records in the Cup class.

"Indeed I won every Supersport Cup race I finished.
"Much as I have loved racing at home, I developed the urge last season to take part in the National Superstock 600cc Championship class at BSB. I feel this is the best decision to improve my racing career and I am very excited to begin the new chapter of my racing.
"After three tests on board my new Yamaha R6, I must say I felt at home from the get go, I had such a great feeling with the bike.
"This has added to my excitement and as they say a happy rider is a fast rider."
