Motorcycle crashes into lorry on busy Scots roads forcing police to shut down scene

A motorcycle has collided with a lorry in a crash on a busy Scots road this morning.

Mercy crews raced to the A985 near to the Limekilns junction in Fife after the alarm was raised at 7.21am.

They then rushed a man to Victoria Hospital, in Kirkcaldy as a result of the smash.

Emergency services are currently on the scene with police forced to shut down the road.

Ambulances are also responding to the crash but it is currently unclear if there have been any serious casualties.

Investigations are continuing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Emergencies services are currently in attendance at a crash involving a motorcycle and a lorry on A985 near to the Limekilns junction.

"The road is currently closed in both directions."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6:52am to attend a road traffic collision at the junction of the A985 and B9156.

"We dispatched an ambulance crew to the scene and a patient was transported to the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy."
