Motorbikers filmed doing wheelies while speeding down Swansea beach during lockdown

Several motorcyclists have been filmed riding along Swansea beach at speed during the coronavirus lockdown.

The incident, which was captured on camera by a cyclist, happened at around 2pm on bank holiday Monday (April 13).

The video shows five motorcyclists on the beach passing people who were walking on the sand.

One motorcyclist even does a wheelie.

The video, which has been shared on Facebook has received hundreds of comments from people in the area.

One wrote: "They aren’t exercising, out getting essentials, out for medical reasons, or going to a place of work because they can’t work from home.

"That’s what’s wrong with it. They should be at home."

Another said: "What's wrong with people, stay home, stay safe, save lives."

One woman said her daughter worked for the NHS, and urged the people in the video to stay at home.

"My daughter's dealing with people who are critical in hospital, get home," she said.

The Government guidelines say people should only leave the house for four reasons.

The rules state that you cannot go for a ride on your motorbike or drive in your car unless your reason for doing so is to get to work if it cannot be done from home, to seek medical help, to help someone else, or to go shopping for essentials.

Police officers have the power to stop and question people on where they are going and can issue on the spot fines.

It's understood this incident wasn't reported to South Wales Police.
