A motorbike rider was reportedly rushed to hospital after a serious crash with a car in Wirral.
It is understood a motorbike and a car crashed on Market Street, in Hoylake, at about 6pm this evening.
Birkenhead Road is closed in both directions and traffic is being slowed in the area following the crash, between Bertram Drive and Deneshey Road.
Photos from the scene showed roads taped off as officers directed traffic.
One police car was pictured on the busy road, as emergency services worked at the scene.
Witnesses say that the rider of the motorbike was rushed to hospital after the crash but Merseyside Police declined to comment.

The condition of the motorbike rider and the driver of the car is not yet known at this stage.
