A motorbike rider is fighting for his life after sustaining serious head and leg injuries.
Merseyside police confirmed the rider, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Emergency services were called to Hoylake Road at its junction with Worcester Road in Birkenhead just before 12.15pm today.
It has been reported a blue Skoda Fabia car was in collision with red Yamaha Tracer motorbike, which had two men on board.
The driver and passenger of the Skoda car received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
The passenger on the motorbike was unhurt.
Merseyside police have confirmed there are a number of road closures in place while emergency services deal with the incident and motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.
