Motorbike rider, 23, dies after single-vehicle collision near Ashington on Easter Monday

A motorcyclist has died after crashing his bike in Northumberland on Easter Monday.

Emergency services were called to the A1147 at Bomarsund near Ashington just before 2pm when the single-vehicle collision happened.

Despite the efforts from passers-by, paramedics and the Great North Air Ambulance Service, the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man from Cramlington, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw any off-road motorcycles in the area at that time to please contact Sergeant Dave Roberts by emailing 541@northumbria.pnn.police.uk quoting log number 423 of 13/04/20.
