Motorbike passenger who fled Rocket flyover car smash remains untraced 16 days on

A motorbike passenger who fled the scene of a crash with a car on the city's Rocket flyover remains untraced, 16 days later.

The crash was near the start of the M62 motorway, which left the rider, 38, with a suspected broken pelvis and elbow.

Police today confirmed the rider had been discharged from hospital, but the passenger remains missing having left the accident site after it happened on April 21, at 2.20pm.

No arrests have been made in connection with the smash, although officers have disclosed the bike involved was a green Kawasaki ZR, and not an off-road scrambler.

A woman driving the car remained at the scene following the incident and was spoken to by police officers.

Following the accident, a large area was sealed off in Broadgreen, at the junction of Bowring Park Road.

The Rocket Flyover was closed in both directions while police helped those at the crash site, recovered vehicles, and looked for clues.

Witnesses in the area described the impact as "huge."

An air ambulance was dispatched to the south Liverpool scene but was not needed.
