Motorbike passenger suffers serious injuries as rider flees scene after crash

A motorbike passenger suffered serious injuries following a crash.

At around 5.50pm on Wednesday emergency services were called to a report of a crash between a car and a motorcycle on Staffordshire Close in Everton. A passenger on the motorbike was taken to hospital with serious injuries which were not life threatening. He is now in a stable condition.

The rider of the red Honda motorbike made off from the scene towards Scotland Road, and the motorbike was found abandoned on Harvey Close. Pictures of the scene showed a number of officers, a police van, police cars and an ambulance.

The driver of a white Volkswagen Polo car stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. St Domingo Road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
