Motor home engulfed in fire at Croudace Bay Park

ON THE SCENE: Fire crews are working to extinguish the blaze.

A fire that engulfed a motor home parked at Croudace Bay on Tuesday night has been extinguished and firefighters have handed the scene over to police, a spokesperson for NSW Fire and Rescue has said.

Belmont firefighters were called to the scene just before 9pm where they found the vehicle, parked at Croudace Bay Park, fully alight and employed a pair of pumps and two tankers to attacked the blaze.

The fire was extinguished around 30 minutes later.

Firefighters looked inside the vehicle and declared it all clear, a spokesperson for the brigade said, and the scene was handed over to police who were expected to look into the circumstances of the incident.

There were no reports anyone was inside the vehicle at the time of the fire, the spokesperson said.

Emergency services remained on the scene into the evening.
