Motherwell & Wishaw Inner Wheel ladies get out knitting needles to help Lanarkshire homeless

Ladies from Motherwell and Wishaw Inner Wheel got out their knitting needles in a bid to help the homeless across Lanarkshire as temperatures tumble this winter.

The ladies were asked to participate in a project called “Wrap Up Lanarkshire”.

This project asked for scarves, clothes etc to help support the homeless in the Lanarkshire area this winter.

The ladies decided to put their knitting skill to good use and knitted an amazing 53 scarves in various colours and patterns.

And they showed off their colourful designs at the club’s most recent meeting.

Nancy Ralston, from the Inner Wheel Club, was delighted with the ladies’ efforts.

She said: “It was really good to see so many different scarves on show.

“We’ve been extremely busy lately with our knitting needles.

“Barbara Waters, Community Service Organiser, asked the club to get involved and we were delighted to be part of it.

“Well done to all the ladies involved.”

Inner Wheel president, Pearl Arthur, added: "This went above and beyond what was originally expected at the start of the club’s project”.
