Motherwell has been voted number seven in the top destinations for a socially distanced and safe staycations in the UK this year.
Self-catering accommodation specialists Lakelovers have revealed the top eight social distancing holiday spots in the UK according to Instagram data.
The top eight are:
1.Keswick, Cumbria - 355k posts.
2. Sevenoaks, Kent - 217k posts.
3. Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk - 203k posts.
4. Rutland - 195k posts.
5. Dunbar, Scotland - 104k posts.
6. Isle of Harris, Scotland - 70k posts.
7. Motherwell, Scotland - 61k posts
8. Holkham, Norfolk – 49k posts
The trends app is once again setting, helping travellers decide which beauty spot they should visit next.
Though typically showcasing tourist hotspots, Instagram data has here shown the areas that are not only beautiful, but most likely to support social distancing.
With a quarter (25 per cent) of people saying they are looking to holiday within the UK until a Covid-19 vaccine is found and 18 per cent saying they prefer a staycation holiday regardless, the demand for holidays on home soil has undoubtedly risen in 2020, with the requirement to find a safe and beautiful holiday spot to enjoy looking set to stay.
