Motherwell v Morton: How to watch and referee appointment for Scottish Cup clash

Motherwell all but secured their Premiership status with an important, hard-fought win over St Mirren last weekend.

A point against rivals Hamilton Accies in the Lanarkshire derby next Wednesday will confirm their place in the top flight for next season.

Graham Alexander’s attention now turns to the Scottish Cup as the Steelmen welcome Greenock Morton to Fir Park on Friday night.

Motherwell beat Formartine in the third round (SNS Group)

Morton secured their passage into the fourth round with a 2-1 win over East Fife whilst Motherwell ran out comfortable 5-0 winners over Highland League side Formartine.

The tie has been moved to Friday night at 7pm due to HRH Prince Phillip’s funeral on Saturday and the only place to watch the action is on Motherwell TV.

The ‘Well have faced Morton four times in cup competitions across the last seven years with the Steelmen winning the last two encounters 4-0.

Referee appointment:
Willie Collum will be the man in the middle (SNS Group)

Willie Collum will be the official in charge on Friday night.

The high-profile referee has dished out 50 yellow cards and three red cards in the league this season. Collum has also awarded eight penalties across the 20 Premiership games that he’s officiated.

The whistler will be assisted by Alan Mulvanney and Drew Kirkland with Alan Newlands as fourth official.
