Motherwell to 'fill' their stadium with images of fans

Motherwell are looking to 'fill' Fir Park with their fans - using cardboard cut-outs of them.

Fans are being urged to upload images of themselves to the Premiership club, where the 'cut-out' will be placed inside the stadium for the duration of lockdown, for a free of £22.

The image will be printed on recyclable weatherproof material, and fans will have it returned to them as a keepsake, once Motherwell can actually welcome fans back into the stadium.

Motherwell have issued instructions to their supporters on how to go about getting their image placed in the stands.

A post on their website said: "Simply snap and upload a good portrait photo of you in your favourite club shirt or team colours and we'll do the rest.  Your image will be printed to 100 per cent recyclable weatherproof material and installed by the club to a seat in the stadium.

Fans won't be able to see their heroes in action directly, but can 'support' them from the stands (Roddy Scott/SNS Group)

"While we can't guarantee the exact position of your cut-out, you can be sure it will be placed in an area that is most likely to be visible during TV and live stream games.

"It's best to get someone to take the photo for you. Only upload portrait photos. Use the rear camera on your device for best results. Face the camera and make sure you are in the centre of the frame.

"Make sure the photo shows your body from the waist up. A neutral background is best. Before you upload the image make sure it is clear, in focus and as good quality as possible."

Motherwell warn that 'inappropriate images' including those of opposition team colours, containing offensive content or 'politically motivated themes' won't be accepted, with orders potentially cancelled with no refund.

Fans have until Friday, July 24 to ensure their image is in the stadium for the first match, and orders after that will be in place for the next available game.
