Motherwell 'strongly considering' contract offer to 13-goal forward with two clubs set to rival for signature

Motherwell are said to be one of three clubs interested in Drogheda United forward Mark Doyle.

The Irish Independent report that the 23-year-old is a player the Steelmen are 'strongly considering' offering a contract to.

Doyle's deal with the Drogs expires at the end of December and it's the only club he has represented, featuring 140 times.

Fir Park manager Graham Alexander has already signed one player from the League of Ireland ahead of the January transfer window - Bohemian attacking midfielder Ross Tierney.

With 13 goals and four assists in 36 league games in the Irish season which finished this month, Doyle would add firepower to Alexander's frontline.

He has also played a variety of positions, although Doyle is predominantly played on the left wing. The Irishman is often deployed through the middle as a striker and on the right flank.

But he is also wanted by St Patrick's Athletic and Shelbourne, so Motherwell face competition if they wish to land the winger.

Dundee await at Dens Park for Alexander's side in the Premiership this weekend after two consecutive 2-0 wins over Aberdeen and Hearts.
