Motherwell star Tony Watt steps back from social media

Motherwell striker Tony Watt has stepped back from social media platforms so he can focus fully on trying to get the club up the Premiership table.

The striker, who is the Fir Park club's top scorer with six goals this season, paid tribute to former manager Stephen Robinson, who stepped down on Thursday, leaving Keith Lasley in charge for the Lanarkshire derby, which Hamilton won 3-0.

Watt said on Twitter: "I wanted to let the dust settle and post this. Thanks to a man who has taken my mindset to another level, a great manager, coach and most importantly a great man.

"All the best in the future, words can't express how thankful I am for everything you did for me.

Watt paid tribute to former boss Stephen Robinson (Rob Casey/SNS Group)

"Now it's time for me to step back from social media and Twitch etc, and focus on lifting us up that table, hopefully with the support of every Motherwell fan out there.

"We know yous deserve more... no more talking, it's time to start doing."

Motherwell continue their Premiership campaign with a clash against St Mirren in Paisley on Saturday.
